During this brew day we show you how to make a Kölsch infused with cucumbers. We made this beer to be a light and crisp beer for summer and we thought cucumbers would pair perfectly with the Kölsch flavor profile to make this beer even more refreshing. This is a perfect beer to brew with some friends and then enjoy with some grilled pork chops on a nice summer day. The Kölsch style is unique because it’s an ale yeast fermented at lager temperatures, this gives it it’s unique flavor. Also in this video, we fire Emmet for missing our pre-boil gravity, drink an Eno Pilsner from Catawba Brewing, and almost spilled nothing along the way. At the end we pitch a yeast starter using special German Ale / Kölsch yeast from White Labs. Check out the next video in this series to watch us infuse cucumbers into our fermented beer.
